For many clients substance use is intertwined with their sexual behavior and expression. The recovery process often overlooks the impact of sobriety on sexual expression. This program will explore the relationship between sex and substance use. Attendees will be provided tools to look at their own comfort in discussing sex and sexuality with their clients. Methods for assessing and overcoming the shame associated with high risk behaviors and tools for helping clients return to healthy sexual interactions while in recovery.

This workshop is approved by the LPCA-GA for 3 Core Hours for LAPC/LPC or 3 Related Hours for all other disciplines under Rule 135 with the following stated objectives: Explore the relationship between sex and substance use, explore clinician strengths and discomfort in talking about sex and sexual expression with clients, develop methods for assessing and overcoming shame related to high risk behaviors, develop tools for helping clients return to healthy sexual interactions while in recovery. Approval # 8021-19M.

This workshop will be held at 3720 Chamblee Tucker Rd, Suite 2D, Atlanta GA 30341 with an arrival time of 10am and a departure time of 2pm.
